When the project was handed out, I initially had many ideas that I felt applied to the issue of Economy, specifically due to this line of text from the project brief:
"based on renewable energy resources in which waste elements are used as inputs within new productive dynamics."Many of my early sketches (first 5 or 6) have to do with recycling, specifically plastic, glass, paper etc but also some involving recycling garbage to harness as a power source. Many of my sketches have...well with no better way of expressing it cheesy ideas behind them, and many of them are simple, but I feel like they could be expanded upon if necessary. Even with the 'cheesy' ideals, it's hard to argue against the fact that earth would be better off and healthier if we recycled all of our 'renewable resources'. We'd be saving ourselves money too!
The bottom 6 ideas where a bit more difficult to come up with. The first one with the car was based on observation at stoplights. It saves gas, and exhaust pollution if people take it slow when the light turns green -- just gradually accelerate. That rarely ever happens, however, and the 'lead foot' comes out. By doing this, they're costing themselves more money in gas, and causing more pollution.
The second idea was driven just by having more parks, more trees.
The two sketches regarding vegetables have to do with both the transport issues of where we get our food from, and what kind of food we're eating. Vegetables bought locally have to travel less of a distance, so they tend to cost less than buying imported vegetables. Vegetables are also a kind of food that is easily decomposable if say, not disposed of properly. The earth wouldn't be harmed by them, because they are naturally grown and not chemically treated like for example, McDonald's burgers, Maple Syrup, or TV Dinners.
The sketch behind 'Carpooling' has to do with the theme of Mobility, since it's promoting less pollution. Using cars still isn't the ideal way to go, but some people feel that they absolutely must use/have a car. If this is the case, people should try to carpool to save on pollution and gas. That's a win/win right there.
The last sketch of my 12 had to do with the theme of Living, specifically this line:
"promoting a correct dietary education and a healthy lifestyle"The silhouette is just that at the moment-- a silhouette, but I made some notes next to that sketch to try and describe what I'd do with the idea. It would be the silhouette of a runner (healthy lifestyle, getting exercise) but the silhouette would be filled with foods from the food groups, in healthy amounts. I'd reference the food pyramid for this piece, as to make sure I get the right ratios. I feel like this is one of my stronger poster ideas.
Overall I feel the best issues to choose from for my poster will be Economy or Living.
